Who we are

Villages Ltd — registration in progress — operated by founder Ibrahim Chaudry, provides the Villages app. You can reach us at support@villages.mobile about anything on this site.

Until the company number exists, that is the controller identity we publish. When registration completes, the registration number and registered office will be published in the Privacy Policy.

Our data is hosted in the eu-west-1 region, and villages default to Europe/London time.

Founder-decided — counsel to confirm

The pre-registration controller identity above was settled by the founder on 24 August 2026.

Where these documents stand

On 24 August 2026 the founder settled the policy questions these drafts had been carrying openly: the minimum age, retention periods, the law and regulator we answer to, how information leaves the country, the published moderation response time, how to appeal, what a subscription costs and what happens to a village when one lapses, how to get a copy of your data, and how changes are announced. All of that is now written as policy in the pages above.

Settled by the founder is not the same as reviewed by a lawyer. Every page still carries that notice, and it stays until counsel has been through them.

One thing is deliberately still blank:

Open decision — limitation of liability

Section 10 of the Terms of Service is empty on purpose. The limitation of liability, the exclusions, the carve-outs that cannot lawfully be excluded, and any financial cap must be drafted by counsel for the law of England and Wales. An invented liability clause would be worse than none, so there is none until counsel writes it.

Two things described in these documents are intended rather than built, and the pages say so where they appear: the date-of-birth field at sign-up, and the option for someone to voluntarily attach the text of a letter they collected to a complaint. Neither exists in the app today.
